Most patients do not need surgery. Dr. Wasylik will treat most patients with medicine or physical therapy. Mary Ellen Hill, R.P.T., Director of Physiotherapy, with more than thirty years of experience, will treat non-surgical and surgical patients with physiotherapy modalities—which may include ultrsound, range-of-motion and strength-building exercises.
Physical therapy and rehabilitation play in important role in treatment and recovery of both surgical and non-surgical conditions. Our patients enjoy priority access to a complete physical therapy and rehabilitation center located in the same building.
Dr. Wasylik has treated surgical patients for more than three decades. Some of the most common procedures Dr. Wasylik performs include:
Using modern computer-assisted placement technology, Dr. Wasylik replaces knee, hip and shoulder joints with the best available modern hardware, including products from Zimmer and ORTHOsoft. Dr. Wasylik uses technology such as gender-specific high-flex knee implants to replace knee joints.
Dr. Wasylik repaces torn ACL ligaments using either autograph (the patient's own tissue) or allograph (donor tissue from a tissue bank) hamstring tendons. Because Dr. Wasylik uses arthroscopic techniques, patients experience smaller incisions, less pain, and quicker recovery than is possible with open surgical techniques.
Dr. Wasylik’s office offers in-house X-ray facilities as well as convenient access to modern imaging and diagnostics typical of orthopeadic problems.
