Dr. Michael A. Wasylik is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon in Tampa, Florida. He is a general orthopaedist who also provides patients with surgical treatment for hip, knee, and shoulder problems.
With more than 30 years of clinical experience in orthopaedic surgery, Dr. Wasylik strives to provide each patient with the best care. He believes in using evidence based medicine in an attempt to achieve outstanding results. He does minimally invasive joint replacement surgery and uses Navitrack Navigation System by ORTHOsoft.
Dr. Wasylik was named Outstanding Physician of the Year for the Hillsborough County Medical Association in 2002. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and a diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He belongs to the Hillsborough County Medical Association, Florida Medical Association, Florida Orthopaedic Society, and the American Medical Association. He has served as President of the Hillsborough County Medical Association.
He is an attending orthopaedic surgeon on the staffs at St. Joseph's Hospital and Memorial Hospital. At St. Joseph's Hospital, he has served as Chief of Orthopaedics and Chief of the Medical Staff.
Dr. Wasylik holds a B.S. and M.D., from the Ohio State University. He completed his surgical internship at the College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. His orthopaedic surgery residency was completed at Case Western Reserve Affiliated Hospitals in Cleveland, Ohio and, during that residency, he was a research trainee for the National Institute of Health. He was commissioned a Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Navy, serving at the Orlando Naval Regional Hospital in Orlando, Florida.
